Network Access

How to access the Barcelona Robot Lab Camera Network and Wireless
Login into the system:
- From Outside the URUS Network:
Be sure you are authorised to login into the URUS network. You must ask the system administrator at IRITIC (incidencia@iri.upc.edu), for access, sign the confidentiality agreement (available from IRITIC), and wait until the Laboratory Director, Alberto Sanfeliu (sanfeliu@iri.upc.edu) accepts your request.
Then, once you are authorised, the system administrator will send you a username and a password for you to log into the system.
Now, you need SSH. If you are on a UNIX-like system (Linux, *BSD, Mac OS X...), you only have to open a terminal or shell and enter this command:
~$ ssh -l your_username 147.83.173.200
or
~$ ssh your_username@147.83.173.200
Now, enter your password, and if everything works you'll be greated with:
Hello username. You are authenticated from host "A.B.C.D"
If you are on a Windows system, you'll need an SSH client like Putty. Download it from http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe to a known folder (your desktop, for example), then double-click on it to open it. Now on Host Name (or IP address), type 147.83.173.200, then click on “Open”. You'll be asked to type in your username and password.
- From Inside the URUS Network:
Access to URUS cams from inside the network is granted by our own WiFi connection.
ESSID: URUS Pass: only authorized personal
It uses WPA2/AES encryption.
