Hints on using the wiki space

This wiki space is intended to be a common place where the classroom discussions can be followed/continued/enriched by the course students. Feel free to contribute at any point on these pages. Just bear in mind the following recommendations.

• It is advisable that you create an account on this wiki system (a username and a password), in order to enjoy all of its advantages.
• Once you have created an account, the wiki system allows you to be notified by e-mail of any changes made on a page you are watching. To be notified on the changes made on a page, just click in the "Views --> Watch" link in the bottom of the page, and activate notification following the link "Personal tools--> My preferences --> User profile --> E-mail-->E-mail me when a page I'm watching is changed".
• It is adviseable to disable "E-mail me also for minor edits of pages" in "My preferences". In this way you'll be notified only on the major changes. Moreover, it is important that all of us take care to mark all minor changes as "minor", before saving the page, in order to only notify the rest of the group about the important changes.
• Mark all pages created as "watched" pages. You'll have to do so on a "per page" basis. Unfortunately, there is no single-click mechanism to mark all pages of the hierarchy as watched.
• It is also worth enabling the following in "My preferences->watchlist":

Add pages I create to my watchlist

Add pages I edit to my watchlist

Add pages I move to my watchlist

• Click on "My watchlist" from time to time, to see a summary of all changes made to the watched pages, after you last visited them.
• Also from time to time click on the "Mark all pages visited" button from within "My watchlist".
• From the root page, use "Related changes" to see any changes made to pages linked from the root page. This provides all changes, even those in pages not in the watchlist.
• Where applicable, start your contribution to the wiki page with your signature, as follows
